Rare reports, not reproducible, but similar causes.

Received reports on newer devices, sync changes from older droids’ branch

Affects new droids and old droids branches.

Has never been reported in the developer console.

This is a meta-item depending on bugs/features required to complete before releasing nettype 1.5.1.

1.5.1 is a hotfix release for issues found during the staged release of 1.5.

[...] on my HTC 10 running Marshmallow, it fails to startup on boot.

Lollipop’s new handling of ongoing notifications makes Nettype’s notification to stay on the lockscreen.

Brought up by Andrey Simakov and Theos Greg on Google Play.

Starting with Marshmallow (API level 23, Android 6.0) READ_PHONE_STATE is considered a dangerous permission (and as a result it can be revoked by the user at any time) but at the same time it is no longer required to check connection status.

Should restrict it to old API levels (NOTE the API documentation don’t mention this requirement anymore, but old devices DO require it).

Please add support for DCHSPAP network, it displays as unknown.
Some phones display it as DC.

Re-do icons with bigger symbols

Indicate connection status on notification icon

Necessary to indicate mobile data on/off in icon

To ease propagating changes to all densities

ldpi and hdpi icons have a non-integer relationship to the other sizes, hence resizing involves antialiasing.

Design icons for these sizes when re-designing icons.

The icon and main app can get out of sync on version 1.4

Probably related to FS#255.
1.4 used separate network listeners for notification and main app, with the main app always listening for signal strength changes (and notification doing so optionally).

Initially fixes (believed to be) only required for older devices.
Now also seen on newer devices
